Water level on the Danube

We are taking a river cruise in late September from Budapest to Bucharest, and I’m worried about the water level. River cruises have been changed to part land cruises now. Hoping for lots of rain in the next month! Not much we can do probably ☹️ We have insurance. What are our options?

You have no options. Your are booked. And your ticket contract contained a statement that low water was a risk. You insurance is only good if you have a "Cancel for any reason" policy but those policies are expensive and rare. You have to go with the flow.

As I recall, there are only two locks between Budapest and the Black Sea, so you will know (almost immediately) if there is a water level problem. Typically, the northern Danube - those destinations up river from Budapest - are the areas where low water is a problem.
This is my favorite section of The Danube. Although not particularly scenic, every stop along the route is fascinating.
Enjoy your cruise.

I appreciate your replies. I guess we cannot do much about it. It should be a good trip anyway. We have a post trip in Romania. We always take carry on only . Hoping for rain!

It sounds like the Danube is up because of recent rain. The Viking website says the cruises should be going on the WATER now. Does anyone have any resent knowledge or feedback? Going east from Budapest should help too.
