WaMu Debit card

Has anyone had any recent problems using this card in London or Germany? I have seen some conflicting posts about this and was wondering if I should try opening another account...

Our son just return from a 5 month around the world honeymoon and used the WaMu debit card from Japan to Germany with no problems and the fee of 1% made it very convenient.

I've traveled with a WAMU debit card many times without problems.

Having said that, WAMU seems to be going downhill rapidly. Their customer service is all done out of India and are really not helpful at all. If you try to get to a human, you are likely to run into a recording that repeats and then disconnects. After banking with them for at least 10 years, I closed everything and won't willingly choose to work with them in the future.

I have used my Wa Mu card all over Europe. No problems in London or Germany. Only places I encountered problems were Portugal (at least as of last May, their entire country uses "MultiBanco" ATMs which aren't compatible with WaMu) and Barcelona.

I have used my WaMu debit card in quite a few places in Europe without any problems. I always send them an email through their customer service email on the website with the dates I will be gone and the places I will be using the card. They will send a email back acknowledging that they have noted it on my card and include international numbers to use if it doesn't work. I always hold my breath that first time I try to get money in a new place, but so far no problems.

Thanks for all the tips and reports...hopefully I'll have the same good experiences (and no problems with WAMU). :)
