Visitint Rome

I will be visiting Rome on july 26-28-09 and I would like to got the closest beach. I have done some research and the closest is the coast of Lido de Ostia Center. Is the water there clean, clear, and blue, like the Bahamas?

No. Realistically, this is the Mediterranean, where you will not find the waters to be exactly like the tropical beaches found in the major oceans of the world.
