Visiting daughter during studying abroad break Copenhagen

I will be visiting my daugher for 10 days during her break from classes. We both need time to recconnect, relax and enjoy each others company. After visiting with her host family and Copenhagen. I would like to take the ferry to Oslo and do the Norway in a Nutshell.

Has anyone done this before? Do you think it would fit the goals of our time together. And if so, any suggestions on must do, see or the best places to overnight on a modest budget?

Hello Jessie. The overnight ship ride from Copenhagen to Oslo is expensive. I recommend : fly from Copenhagen to Bergen in Norway (SAS airline). (I did that, in 2007). One night at Bergen. Start the Norway in a Nutshell trip at Bergen. Train from Bergen to Voss, bus from Voss to Gudvangen. Boat from Gudvangen to Aurland. Overnight at Aurland. The next day, bus from Aurland to Flam. Train uphill to Myrdal (scenic train ride). Train from Myrdal to Oslo. Be at Oslo two nights. Express train from Oslo to Stockholm in Sweden (6 hours and 30 Minutes train ride). Be at Stockholm 3 nights. Express train from Stockholm to Copenhagen. (You might change trains at Malmo in Sweden). Stockholm is a pleasant city for tourists : riding on busses to the museums is easy. If you want my suggestions for relatively inexpensive places for your overnight accomodation, send a Private Message to me.
