If I got a prepaid visa debit card will I be able to use it in Eastern Europe and if I can can I use it in an ATM machine to get cash. I know a regular one is better but I lost mine and cannot get another before I leave, thanks for all input.

You will pay a premium around 10% to load and use a prepaid card. It offers no advnantages. It will work in E Europe. Most debit cards are replaced in 24 to 48 hours. Surely you have enough time to get a replace if you have the time to a prepaid.

Among other things, a CC if you have one is far more secure since the money is not immediately debited from your account.

But David if its to withdraw cash, I wouldn't use an Credit card. I'd use an ATM/Debit one from a bank or credit union.
Robb, your bank or c.u. can replace it within 24 -48 hours if you tell them you need it ASAP. If it won't make it, then I guess you have to use the prepaid as an alternate then.

Of course, I was saying for purchases. I would never use a CC for cash except in an emergency.
