Viennese Panorama

While under the Austria thread , this might seem a more appropriate location , Many of us have visited the glittering city on The Danube in addition to our other destinations . So for the broader audience , This is from the 2018 New Year's Concert , with The Vienna Philharmonic . The whole program is , as always , glorious . This intermission feature celebrates the beauty of the city and most notably the work of the great architect and engineer , Otto Wagner . One of the principal Secession artists of The Fin de Siecle , his work embodies Viennese Art Nouveau ( Jugendstil ) The aerial and panoramic cinematography, will make you think you are there ! Start at 34:30 , this runs for about 30 minutes . Also , from 1:10 , the next two pieces are accompanied by a visit to Augarten Porcelain , the second oldest such manufacturer in Europe ( after Meissen ) . Delicious , though inedible , treats . and then a visit to the U bahn station ( U4 ) at Hietzing , by Wagner , built for Franz Josef . The Emperor only used it twice , preferring his horse to such newfangled things like railways . https://youtu.be/oVGhlMi2xJU

Steven,
Thanks for sharing this link. I’m now listening to it on my iPad while I work.
I love these New Years Day concerts.
