Any suggestions for a 3 night stay in Vienna. Will be traveling with my 69 year old Mother. We are attending the Christmas markets and want to be centrally located.

Hi Michele,
We enjoyed staying in Pension Pertschy for 3 days. It is perfectly centally located.
Have a great time!

I see Rick Steves has a tour that includes Vienna.
You should get his book that covers Vienna and check out his recommendations. I am headed to Vienna the end of August and am trying to get his latest book that covers that city. Happy travels
I would have to second the recommendation for Pension Pertschy. Just a few blocks from the St Stephens metro stop, about 2 blocks from the Hofburg Imperial Palace and Spanish Riding school, great breakfast, reasonably priced rooms, elevator, nice staff.
It was quite cold over New Years's when we visited so it was quite handy to be in the middle of things to pop into the room and warm up a bit during the day (or night - for Sylvester!).
We were in Vienna over Thanksgiving this year, and stayed at the Hotel Graben. We booked an air/hotel/train package through EuropeanDestinations.com (we went on to Budapest by train) and thought we received a very good price.
The Hotel Graben was about 1 block from St. Stephens and 2-3 blocks from the Hofburg. Rooms were simple, but had great soundproofing and lots of hot water. We did find that the hotel keeps the temperature in the rooms much lower than our usual 68 degrees, so keep that in mind.
The Christmas Market was wonderful. It was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Lots of food and drink stands. We were a little disappointed that there weren't more handmade crafts (a lot of manufactured Christmas ornaments, etc.) but it was still a delightful experienec.
My last comment is that Vienna was cold and damp with snow showers a few days. I live in a dry climate, and had forgotten how the cold just goes through you in damp climates. Pack warm clothes & shoes.
We were in Vienna for the 2007 Christmas markets. We stayed at the Mercure Westbahnhof. It is next to the train station and very near tram stops and subway stations. Reasonable prices for a good (not great, but very good)room. However, we found that we liked the markets at Salzburg MUCH better.
