Versailles

I am looking to purchase le passport tickets for our day visit to Versailles, but am unclear if my kids are free. We plan to visit the castle, the gardens, and Marie-Antoinettes home. My kids are 13 & 16. Can you tell me if I need to buy them tickets too?

Kids under 18 are free for palace, but bring id for 16 yr old . Also gardens are free for everyone, EXCEPT on weekends when they do the fountain shows( check website, I think they do them on Tuesdays also till June) . On those days there is an extra charge for gardens, but not all of the grounds, you would have to exit the grounds and walk around the outside of the walls to access the grounds that do remain open to public, free , all the time, Marie Antionettes Hamlet is in this lower ground area. I never use "le passport " but have used a museum pass, so not sure what "le passport" includes.
