Verona - Places to stay with a family - ideas/experiences?

Our family of 4 will be in Verona for a couple of days and wonder if anyone has had good experiences with hotels/apartments there. We have a car so we could stay in the outskirts, but wouldn't mind being near the city center or on a bus line to avoid parking headaches.

Researched the archieves as best I could and found good recommendations for L'Ospite di Frederica De Rossi... any others?

Thanks!

Chad---you might check the reviews on Tripadvisor under "Specialty Accommodations" to see if anything looks good to you. We found what appears to be a well-regarded place for our family there, but we haven't stayed there yet, so I can't provide a recommendation.

I also found that Hotel Verona, on the main street between the train station and the Piazza Bra area, has family rooms at a decent price on "non-opera" nights. The price doubles on opera hights, however.

I also suggest tripadvisor for reviews and options.

We stayed at the Villa Francescetti hostel. It was just okay, the people running it were fine but it was pretty run down. We stayed in seperate dorm rooms (Boys and I, girl and spouse). We arrived late and it was full, so we were unable to get the family room.

I wouldn't recommend it because my wife's morning shower was, in her words, a trickle of water down the wall. Also her blanket was taken by someone in another bed to use as a curtain (and she didn't take it back or go to the desk to get another).
