Vernazza Cinque Terre floods- can we help?

Hello everybody,
I am traveling to Italy in January before I start my 'semester abroad' in February. I was wondering if anyone knew of ways to help clean up Vernazza due to the floods in October. I know that the Italian Red Cross is working there, but I was not sure if anyone knew of any organizations that are currently working there and will be in the middle of January? Please let me know! I am eager to help!

Leanna, AFAIK, the only way to help at the moment is with donations, using the website in the previous reply. Vernazza is still evacuated and only emergency personnel and relief workers are allowed in the town. Each train that arrives is met by Police, and ONLY those with proper credentials are allowed to disembark. I've been keeping up-to-date on the situation as much as possible, but I don't believe that "volunteers" are being used at this point. Happy travels!
