I have an unlocked Verizon Blackberry Bold wifi world phone with Skype mobile which will only work in the US with unlimited data. In Europe, with a GSM Sim card instead of Verizon's CDMA, will Skype mobile work on wifi? Addition: I ONLY want it to work on wifi, not data in Europe. Verizon locks out wifi in the US and only allows data.

skip, Although you may be able to obtain a SIM card in Europe to cover voice & text, getting a card that includes data may be difficult as those are usually reserved for customers on term plans. The situation is changing all the time, so it's possible that one of the networks is now offering PAYG data plans, but I'm not aware of any. When you are connected on WIFI skype should work regardless of if you have a data plan enabled. I plan on bringing my unlocked android phone to Italy next spring and buying a prepaid phone/data plan at a phone shop once I arrive. I have found some info on
