Venice hotels

"Best" requires subjective opinions. When this kind of question is asked here, you get personal favorites, which hopefully will be helpful--but of course none of us here is an expert on European hotels.

The way your question is worded, it seems you'll be helped by taking at least a look at opinions of "best" from experts, one of the respected authorities on Europe hotels is Michelin, publishers of the Michelin guides.

So I'm going to recommend that, in addition to seeing personal picks from others, that you go to the Michelin Guide website.

When you get to the site, click the Hotels tab at the top, enter the country and city name at the left, and make sure to check the box "Michelin guide hotel selections".

After you click Search, array the resulting selection by Rating, and then you'll see the 5-star rated hotels at the top, and you can click each property to determine which ones have canal views.

Hi James - The answer to your question , without a bunch of lecturing, is The Hotel Danieli, Rialto Bridge Hotel, Hotel Luna Baglioni, and The Hotel Excelsior. There are many others of course BUT these are the cream of the crop and, when in Venice, why not go 1st class!!!!!
