Vancouver to Gatwick to Munich

When arriving at Gatwick 11 am. from Canada and have connecting flight to Munich 2 hours later , where do we go through customs and security, Gatwick or Munich or both?
Is 2 hours enough time to get to Munich departure gate after we land at 11.

You may need to go through passport checks in both locations. It will partly depend on your tickets. Please confirm whether this is an official connection, booked on one ticket, or whether you're trying to buy the two legs separately, without any transfer protections. And if it's the latter, checked luggage or not?

There is no security on arrival. But when changing flights in the UK you always have to go through security unless you arrive on a domestic flight.

I’m guessing you’re fine, if you’re flying on same airline with same booking on both flights. And if the Vancouver plane isn’t overly delayed. Can you determine into which Gatwick terminal you land, and from which one you depart for Munich? For what it’s worth, we had about an hour and 40 minutes, two months ago, late September. We took off from Denver (late), landed at Gatwick (pilot made up some time, but still late), and did screening and a lot of walking at Gatwick, trying to make our connecting flight to Crete (Greece - made it in time). At Gatwick, we followed hallway after hallway, and at one junction, there was a sign for terminal 2 passengers, pointing to the left. We needed Terminal 2, but were told that everyone needed to head right, down one floor.

Jet-lagged and Irritated by the conflicting messages, we went downstairs, where a bank of glass turnstiles greeted people from certain countries (including USA and Canada). Turns out that was for border control.

The turnstiles, new to us, involved sliding the photo page of your passport onto a scanner on the right. It wasn’t obvious, but turns out you have to stare at a small panel also on the right, glasses off, for a facial recognition monitor. Once all that was done to the machine’s satisfaction, the glass doors opened up, and we headed towards Security at Gatwick. This was late afternoon, and not a busy time. Had queues been long, we might have had a much longer transition time.

If you’re on the same airline and booking all the way to Munich, the airline likely wouldn’t have reserved your flights unless they were confident you had time to make both flights. But you may have some walking to do, moving thru lots of Gatwick to your departure gate. Once we reached Crete, we got our Passports checked - by a person this time - then headed right to a taxi for our hotel. No additional screening, and we were carrying on all our luggage, no waiting to claim bags.

It appears this is what is being contemplated by Nancy. ( hopefully I am wrong) To me it looks like a high wire act in a windstorm.

If the 2nd flight is on easyjet, you have to take the 'long' way through Gatwick, ( see link in ramblin's post) and contend with the plane door closing 25 minutes before scheduled departure.
