Can you use your laptop and Skype to call US as long as you have an internet connection? How's the quality? I need to make a couple of conference calls back to US.
I heard in some hotspots, Skype is not working or blocked, is it true? I am not expecting using the hotspots for free. Thanks.
You can use Skype to make free computer to computer calls, or computer to land line/mobile at dirt cheap rates- anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Quality is excellent, most people don't realize I'm using Skype unless I tell them. There are a few ISP that block Skype and other VOIPs but for the most part you shouldn't have a problem with this. For best results should buy a headset or handset. Sometimes you can halve problems with echo in speaker phone mode.
