When I received my reservations with Rail Europe I received a Rail Europe phone card in the packet. I wondered if anyone can tell me if this is a good phone card to use. I will not be using a cell phone but will have to find a phone booth in France and perhaps in Belgium if I should want to call back to US. If it is not a good card to use, please let me know what is the best one to purchase. Purchase here or in Europe?

The question is how much time on the card? The card is fine to use so use up the time. When the card is empty switch to any local card that you buy at a tobacco shop or somewhere similar. Some will recommend an ATT or other card from the US side but have always found the local cards to be cheaper. Do be aware of the free cards sometimes handed out on the street. I think those cards have some hidden charges.
