Using an ATM card to obtain Euros or using a credit card

Hi, our rental aptmt requires a security deposit and balance due upon check in. I was advised today that we can
use a credit card..as an easier option. We will not be allowed to pay a partial Euro portion of the balance upon check in and pay the rest the following day as I had hoped. What would you suggest? ATM's allow only so much Euros withdrawals per day. We plan to have at least 2 ATM cards with us.
Otherwise, it requires us to purchase Euros in the USA thereby paying a higher exchange rate AND shipping fee...or
obtain some here..and some there (thinking we would be more
stressed upon arriving in Frankfurt's airport and locating an ATM machine).
The rental agent thinks it's a cheaper exchange rate using
the credit card. I read that it's more expensive to use
a credit card. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Use the credit card if they will accept it. The few dollars extra it might cost you are not worth the hassle of dealing with multiple ATM withdrawls.

Plus if they accept credit card, in case of fraud you can have your credit card company deny the charges.

There's more security in using the CC over cash.

If you have multiple CC's, find out which one charges your the least for foreign currency. Typically mastercard charges less than visa, and credit unions charge less than banks.
