I have been reading about the ease of using a Visa TravelMoney reloadable card for travel instead of travelers checks. I understand that it can be used at Visa/PLUS ATM's. Any thoughts from those who have used a Visa TravelMoney card? Thanks...

Ive read there are some fees associated with it (could end up being more than just ATM fee) - read the transactional fee details to make sure you dont pay one with each swipe! The exchange rate may not be as favorable vs ATM withdrawls!

I looked into these cards about 18 months. The fees were very high -- over 10 % mostly buried in the exchange rate. There was a class action suit against credit and debit card company a few years ago that forced cc and dc to disclose their fees. The court order does not cover prepaid cards. Before deciding, look very hard at all fees and the exchange rate.
