Using a laptop in the UK and recharging the battery

I was wondering if it is safe to use a adapter to recharge a laptop battery or should I get a special converter too? What works best? Also this applys to charging a lithum battery for a camera. any suggestions?

Cheryl,

You need to check the Chargers for both your Laptop and Camera batteries in order to determine whether you'll need a Voltage Converter. If the nameplate on both Chargers states "Input Voltage 100-240VAC, 50/60 Hz", they are designed for "world" operation and will work fine in Europe. You'll need Plug Adapters specific for the countries you'll be visiting though.

If you could provide a bit of further information, it would be easier to offer more specific advice.

Cheers!

Thanks so much..I see on both my laptop and my camera charging unit it has 120v-240v 50/60 hz. So I gues I just need the plug adapter.

One more question...is it okay to run the laptop off the powercord or should I stick to just charging it and running off battery?

You can run it off the power cord if you wish.
