Used Luggage

Does anyone know if there is a place in metro Atlanta that would be interested in buying used Rick Steve's luggage? TC

Sell it on Ebay. This is how I make some extra travel money, selling stuff I don't need anymore on Ebay. You could also put it in a garage sale; yours or one a friend or relative is having. No, I do not know of a place in metro Atlanta that would buy it. But if there is a good used bookstore in your area, put a note up on its bulletin board. Ditto if there is a university in your area. You are bound to get a taker if you put a large sign, "For Sale: Rick Steves luggage" on a college bulletin board. A similar sign at your local library is also likely to get results. Or on the bulletin board wherever you work, in the coffee room. If you end up giving it away, after offering it to friends or family, think of offering it to the librarians at your local library, or to a teacher. These people often don't make a fortune in salary, (but aren't we all grateful for the jobs they do) and love to travel.

Why not just list it on Craigslist or similar ( we have "New and Used" and "Kijiji" also)C

That stuff is made overseas, to the west. I would give it to a charity or just dump it.

you can use CL, but if its like here, you will get alot of no shows.

EBAY is another option as mentioned, but you will have to deal with the shipping, evaluation and other stuff.

Local stores sometimes have bulletin boards.

your place of employment may also allow f/s posts.

Community colleges and colleges are a grate way.

if you have any flea markets, you maybe able to get an inexpensive table and fill it up with other f/s goodies.

happy trails.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will try the bulletin boards at some of the colleges. TC

Have you tried the Atlanta Rick Steves Helpline/Travel group yet? Of no one there needs it, they may know of someone who might be interested.

If you do decide to give your luggage away, another worthy charity is Volunteers of America. They give away (don't sell) everything you donate, to the homeless and needy families.
