unsweetened almond milk

Hello everyone; Is anyone familiar with the availability of unsweetened almond milk in Western Europe? We are embarking on the 21 day tour in a couple weeks. I regularly drink unsweetened almond milk with my protein powder. I avoid sugar as much as possiblethis is why I stay away from cow's milk. Dairy sometimes can upset my stomach as well...if anyone has any experience with this, I would be very grateful!!! Thanks, Tammy

In Germany it's in most grocery stores. Try REAL, LIDL, EDEKA, etc. Also more nature-stores (like Trader Joe's) usually have BIO in the name. Ask at the hotel/apartment or where ever you're staying for a local recommendation. I know I've seen it at French grocery store chain CORA.

I traveled extensively while vegan, and regret to say that unless you are at a veggie or vegan establishment, your chances of getting almond milk in a restaurant are practically nil. :-( But the others are correct. It is easily available in food shops.

Tammy we can get that stuff easily enough in stores here, and as same in Europe, but do they really sell that in restaurants in Chandler USA , cause here its would be hard to impossible to find , except maybe , maybe in a vegetation restaurant, of which I think we only have one or two in city... You will have to adjust diet on holiday, we all do to some degree as when in foreign places we have to eat different things sometimes.
Drink water with meals and mix protein powder with juices, and maybe if you stay in a place more then one night and your hotel room has a mini fridge then pop out to store to pick up some almond milk for a treat. Another idea, if you have a health food type store in town, ask if they carry powdered almond milk. Drink wine and beer.

Western Europe covers quite a few countries, so if you get more specific about where you are going, we can offer better answers. I can only answer for Germany on this subject. Eating vegetarian and vegan is very popular in Germany right now, and you will find lots of milk substitutes. It may not be almond milk, but could be rice milk or oat milk. You won't find these at restaurants though unless you are dining at a vegan place. If you are in small towns, this possibility is just about zero though. Rather than using protein powder and almond milk, you could just eat vegetables, potatoes, rice, fruit, mushrooms, pasta, breads and of course meat if you desire. Those are all healthier and more natural than a powder. No need to eat sugar or diary if you don't want to. People here like eating seasonal, so asparagus is big right now, as are strawberries. Soon, we will have cherry season, later in the year mushroom season and all the cruciferous veggies. Lots of goat milk cheeses, and organic meats.

I would be shocked if a restaurant in France served unsweetened almond milk. You can find it in the largest of supermarkets or small organic/specialty/health stores. If you have a car and time to drive around, you should be able to find it.

Larger cities do tend to have veg/vegan restaurants - I'd do some research for each individual city, a veg/vegan restaurant would be fairly likely to have a non-dairy milk substitute, although it may not specifically be unsweetened almond milk.

I drink unsweetened almond milk too and I doubt you will have any problems finding it in the grocery stores. If you must have it while dining at restaurants, bring it with you in a small refillable container (like a small water bottle)to drink or add to coffee or tea. I do that here.
