Just around the corner from me and on fire. Plan accordingly if you had hoped to see the backlot. Huge damage. BBC has better coverage than our LA stations.

I've spent a lot of time in that area of the backlot.
Except for the King Kong exhibit--which is now gone-- and part of a video library, most of what was destroyed were facades. They'll probaby be rebuilt in no time. (New York Street is gone as is Courthouse Square--best known from Back To The Future.)
The park is open for business and the only differnce visitors will see is a change to the backlot tour.
Oh the visitors will notice and smell it. Just back from horse back riding in Griffith Park and the acrid odor from the smoke was barely bearable. Of course, they'll rebuild it as quickly as possible. None of their films ever makes as much as the backlot tour and here in Hollywood it is always about the bottom line.
