UNESCO World Heritage Sites

The Join Us in France podcast directed me to the UNESCO website. It looks like a good resource for finding interesting or important sites but which may not be well known. France has many such sites (you can probably name a bunch off the top of your head), but I found several sites that I never heard of. Here are few French ones of the man-made variety that hold my curiosity.

Fortifications of Vauban.
Belfries of Belgium and France
Vezelay Church and Hill

Always a useful site.
Of Vauban's, Besançon is well worth it. Neuf-Brisach has an unusual street design with bland buildings, a pleasant walk around the perimeter.

Many years ago but Vezelay is also well worth it.

Villefranche-de-Conflent and Mont-Louis are both on the scenic route of the SNCF Yellow Train through the Pyrenees, though the station for Mont-Louis is quite a distance (and unmarked) from the village. Villefranche is wildly touristy but seemed to me to have a lot more to see than Mont-Louis. I'm no expert on fortifications, though.
