Understanding HiSpeed Ticket

I just purchased a ticket from Amsterdam to Brugge on "HiSpeed" for September 2013. I have now received my tickets. However, there is no indication of what car or what seat we are to go to. We are in second class. I was sent the platform to leave from in a separate email, however, I still am unsure as to what car I am to go to. This is my first time taking a train and as I have to do transfers to other trains along the way, I want to ensure I understand what car to go to and if there is a seat reserved or if I just get on the train. Thanks so much!

The Thalys segment from Amsterdam to Antwerp (or Brussels) should have the reserved seat listed somewhere on the ticket. The stretch from Antwerp to Bruges is is on regular intercity trains, so there are no seat reservations. You are free to sit anywhere in second class, and take any departure.

How many stops are listed on the ticket itinerary, which is kind of an indirect way of asking "Does part of your trip include a ride on the Thalys service"? If not, and you're only taking regular intercity trains (there should be a stop in Roosendaal), the trains you will ride on are all open seating. No reservations, no seat or carriage assignments.

Thank you so much for the reply. I am taking the FYRA from Amsterdam to Rotterdam and then 2 Intercity trains from Rotterdam to Antwerpen and Antwerpen to Brugge. This really helps - thank you so much! You took a little of the fear out of taking the train. Kimlee
