Uber Question

We arrived in Edinburgh Scotland last night and took a taxi from the airport to our Airbnb in Leith. We would like to use Uber a few times here but never used it before and are wondering how it works as far as payment. We do not have Internet unless we hook in with Wi-Fi and so how does that work with paying? Do we need Internet in order to use Uber while in the car? Any help is very welcome!

While on wifi, set up an Uber account. On it, you put your credit card details for all future rides and costs (including Uber Eats). You need wifi to order an Uber ride, but after that internet is not needed. It automatically charges your cc on file and sends you a receipt to your email address.

I was just in Edinburgh over Christmas/New Year's and used Uber several times a day. Internet is everywhere in Edinburgh...in fact they have city-wide wifi in the central part of town that is free. They have their act together! If you can't hook in to it for some reason, just find a place with wifi, which is just about everywhere, and call up a car like you normally would. You don't have to change anything about the app, your payment, method, or ANYTHING. It works exactly like it would at home. Your phone calls the driver, their phone ends the fare so you don't need to worry about it from your end at all. Just make sure the driver ends the fare, which I have never had a problem with!
