The White House has directed the State Department to start offering U.S. passport renewal online. This means those who need to get their passport renewed will not have to print out a form and mail it in. All will be done online.
It's part of a plan to bring the government into the digital age and make is easier for the public to interact with government agencies. Changes include dealing with Social Security, the IRS and even TSA.
No starting date was given for any of these announcements.
