Turkey_Gezi Park, Istanbul_ Protest

I'm following #OccupyGezi, #OccupyTurkey, #Erdogan, and #Turkey on Twitter, using Google Translate to translate Tweets that are in Turkish. It doesn't sound good.

New York Times had very good coverage with lots of comments from Turks - just search it out.

First hand- no, But I have a good friend, who lives in Istanbul and is Turkish. She has just sent me some photos she took at one of the demonstrations. She says things are pretty tense there and no way of knowing what will happen next.

Same as Maggie... a friend who is Turkish sends updates a few times a day on Facebook. She shows many images of peaceful demonstrations, but it seems as things could go bad any time.(She is a young college woman)
