Here's a story posted by the New York Times today. The Dutch are destroying millions of flowers because of lack of demand.
Interesting. I actually read a similar news report a couple of weeks ago. At that point, the possibility of destruction was only "feared".
I read that article when it came out. Tulips are my absolute favorite flower....🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Had to run out and check. Nope, mine are just fine. About 150 square ft of flowers in 7-8 colors. Even the daffodils are still hanging in, and they started blooming almost 2 months ago.
The lack of demand is partly due to lack of affordable shipping options right now with most international shipping dedicated to medical needs and food. The cost to ship by air has gone up six times what it was in February.
