Tube tickets

I will be in London in June for 2 days. Should I invest in the Oyster pass or the Travel Pass? Our hotel tube stop is Hanger Lane.
Thanks, Joyce

Joyce, the OYSTER card is like an electronic wallet. You can "load" it with "pay -as-you-go" (paygo) money or with a "travel card" or both. the travel card can be good for 1 day or several- depending you what you buy. If you are only there for 2 days, just load it with some paygo money. It will calculate the cheapest fare and deduct that at the end of the day. The other option to conisder is the paper travel card you can purchase at national rail stations (NOT tube stations). It allows you access to some 2 for the price of 1 admission deals. Check the "days out" transportation website to see if you would use any of those deals- if so, that would be your best bet. NOTE- it is NOT a 1/2 price deal- 2 people who BOTH have the paper travel card with the national rail logo must use the deal together.

I would go with the Oyster Card. Hanger Lane tube station is in Zone 3, you have a 40-45 minute trip to most places that you want to go to. I checked a couple....from Hanger Lane to Covent Garden tube station is a 41 minute trip, to Knightbridge it is a 42 minute trip.
