I tried to buy from EBay an unlocked motorola 139C which was posted from several as a good cheap one to pop a sim card in for Europe. THey are sold out on ebay and I have only one other site N1 wireless which has mixed rating from customers where I found this phone.. it was 19.99
Any thoughts as to where is a trusted site to buy an unlocked cheap cell?

Barbara, It's great that you've found a phone. I was going to suggest looking for a Motorola V-551 phone, but they seem to be more expensive than the one you've obtained. One important point to mention is that you'll need to check the Charger supplied with the phone, to ensure that it's designed for "world operation". You will of course require Plug Adapters appropriate for the countries you'll be visiting.

My friend, daughter & I all have Mobal....with a world wide sim...but you can remove it and buy a local at any time. I have done that many times when I am staying longer than a few days.

Barbara, try tigerdirect.com or amazon. Both sell new, unlocked GSM phones.

bought at amazon a BLU it was more money but i got tired of trying to find that 19.99 deal... for the motorola

I will check for that seems like since its meant to be used all over that the charger should work with an adapter but yes will check that out.. seems like several people have used this phone in Europe and liked it.
