Trip to Ireland, Scotland, London & Paris

I am plannng this trip for late Spring 2010. I have 16 to 20 Days. I have found that it is cheaper to book a R/T from Las Vegas to Dublin than any other city in my destinations. I plan on Dublin, Edinburgh, London and Paris. This is my first trip to Europe and I can really use some help with travel in between the cities. We know that this is alot to do in a short time and are going to have to omit alot of the museums etc. . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh boy, do I have advice for you. We just returned from three weeks and had your schedule except that we opted for Spain instead of Scotland. First of all, someone suggested I buy our tickets at midnight. It saved me about five hundred dollars for five tickets. We paid $517 each (that includes taxes) to fly from Las Vegas to London, then from Madrid to Las Vegas. Once in Europe, you can't beat Ryanair. They are cheaper than rental cars, trains, or buses. Check out their carry on allowances. They allow much smaller than the big airlines. That's how we hopped from city to city. Have a great time.

Form just what you said, I'd suggest flying from Dublin to Edinburgh, train to London, train to Paris and then fly back to Dublin from Paris. Ryanair is one inexpensive airline but there are others. (You have to be careful of all the "hidden" costs.

You could also fly between Edinburgh and London but I find, by the time you travel to the airport, check in, go through security, take your flight, travel into city center...it's almost the same as taking a train. And the scenery is better from the train.

Jackie, we used Dublin as our "home base" and used Ryan Air. Ryan allows one carry on.. and they mean ONE like your purse or your bag or your suitcase... not purse AND luggage.
They will stop you at the gate and have you shove your purse into the bag or pack.

PM me if you have any questions on Dublin if you plan to fly in/ out of that city.. unless you find a great open jaw ticket. We flew out of Dublin to get to Newcastle, and then flew out of Dublin to get to Cork... so I know Ryan air AND the Dublin airport quite well.
