I planning a trip to Italy (Rome, Venice and Florence)in June. is june a high season and more expensive?...fly to rome or venice are very expensive, any recommendation?... this trip is for 10day. or should do London-Paris-rome... help
thank you,
Caution: in June it will be very hot in Rome, Florence, Venice. Air conditioning is not so strong and plentiful as in Dallas. Besides you want to sightsee.
Yes, June is high season.
You'll have more time for sightseeing and spend less time and money traveling if you limit yourself to Italy. Fly open jaw (multi-city) to avoid backtracking: for example, Dallas-Rome and Venice-Dallas. Or start in Venice and end in Rome. In either case make Florence your second stop. Take the train Rome-Florence-Venice or Venice-Florence-Rome.
June would be a great time to go to the UK (and maybe Paris). 10 days based in London with lots of day trips would be wonderful. Let me know if that intersts you. I wrote an article about doing just that and could send you the link.
If the heat in Italy truly would be a problem for you, then I suggest that you visit London and Paris. Again fly open jaw: Dallas-London and Paris-Dallas. Take the Eurostar from London to Paris.
However, Rick Steves offers tours of Venice-Florence-Rome throughout June and into July. Apparently the heat doesn't stop people from taking them and enjoying them.
Thank you everyone for your answers.
It isn't that hot in June.
Early to mid June temps are in the high 70s....and in in the low to mid 60s at night.
