Hello,
I am going to a wedding near Dublin on June 8, 2024. After that I possibly want to visit Dublin, Edinburgh, and Amsterdam. I am leaving from Los Angeles and am trying to figure out how much time to stay in each of these places, and which is the most reasonable way to fly to Europe and around Europe, and then back to Los Angeles. I am just starting to try to figure this out and would appreciate any information that you might want to share with me.
Thank you,
Marlene Montoya
Dublin deserves three nights and if you add day trips to Brú na Bóinne, the castle in Trim, Kilkenny and Belfast, add a night per trip.
Edinburgh two nights. Good day trip options from Edinburgh are Glasgow and St. Andrews.
Amsterdam three nights. Convenient day trips from Amsterdam are Delft, Edam, Volendam, Rotterdam and Leiden.
Fly into Dublin and back home from either Edinburgh or Amsterdam. There are nonstop flights between Dublin and Edinburgh / Edinburgh and Amsterdam.
How much time do you have for your vacation? Do not count arrival and departure days for much touring as arrival day you may be jet lagged and departure day usually flights leave in the AM. Be sure to fly open jaw that is into one city and home from.another all on one ticket. Two one way tickets are super expensive. Since you are attending a wedding of course you can't count that day also and the day you fly to other cities are only probably half days for touring. Once you have the number of days sorted out it is easier to give you better advice.
Start doing research on those three destinations. Decide what YOU want to see and possibly include a day trip or two if you have the time.
Once you know what you want to see, then you can decide how much time to spend in each city.
Flying open jaw will save time.
