Trip to Europe with my bestie need advice

I am going with my best friend and our 2 teen daughter (15 and 16 years) for a mini tour in europe during June july 2019.
My question is after we get to Munich I have planned 2 days in salzburg (sound of music sites/Hallstaat/berchtesgaden/) from July 1 to July 3, we check out from salzburg july 3 and fly from nurenberg on july 5 to Italy I would like to know what is the best itinerary from july 3 to july 5 knowing that we would like to explore the bayern and souther germany during that time and where is the best town or village to stay at (I have already visited neuschwanstein so it is not on my list this time) please?

I have to laugh a little, I interpreted the headline as something along the lines of , “ how do I maintain a solid friendship under the stress of travel, need advice.” Then I read the body of your post :)

I think your particular group would do great at Garmisch-Partenkirchen (G-P). Lots for all ages and interests. You can go up the Zugspitze, hike a scenic gorge, rent bikes, shop, or do a summer luge.
Many lodging options including rental apartments.

I would do Salzburg - Munich - Nuremberg. That is a line, and no backtracking. And since you have only 1.5 days in Nuremberg, you will probably have plenty to do there.

Post your full itinerary if you are interested in more suggestions. But try not to back-track.

Thank you carol i know reading back my headline :)))) and also Paul for the advice i cannot help but feel nostalgic about the US where I spent 1 fully year with my husband and kids for an amazing year coming from Lebanon it was reall incredible.
Coming back to my flight itinerary ur both right better post the full itinerary for better advice:
-26-28 june amsterdam
-28-01 july nurenberg (coming by train from amsterdam-i have a cousin in nurenberg)
-01-03 july salzburg (i have a booking in a nice hotel there)
-03-05 july.........my dilemma
-05-07 july rome (flying from nurenberg)
my problem is after i check out from salzburg on the 3rd of July I would like to spent these 2 days (or a little bit less given the plan) i would like a nice short itinerary on the south of austria and germany and go back up to nurenberg from where i will fly to rome on the 5th of july.
Most important i would like to decide where to stay the night of the 4th in a nice village in that area of course garmisch is on my mind but since i have already done neuschwanstein i am skeptic and i am fully aware that these 2 days are very tight for a better discovery of that area, i like planning in advance and that is where i am confused :) apologies for my lengthy post and hope you can reply me back
PS:if you feel 1 day you would like to discover the beautiful country of lebanon, you are welcome :)
