I will be staying in Paris in May and would like to go to the Loire valley , having a nice lunch while I'm there. My daughter will be travelling with me. Thank you Elsa
Elsa, I will be blunt,, that will be a VERY expensive day,, so you probably won't get many ideas on this forum as most of us are more middle of the road travellers,, what I suggest is that you go to a busy forum that serves a variety of types of travellers( the ones who want 50 euro rooms and the ones who will pay for 500 euro rooms ) and post there.
tripadvisor.com paris forums to start. If on the other hand you would like to hear about alternative ways of enjoying the Loire Valley ,, there are many here who can help. On your own, renting a car, taking train from Paris and using a local tour in the area, or a escorted bus/ or van tour from Paris. Many options.
You can check this company. Haven't used them but they pick you up at the Tours train station. www.linkparis.com
I am open to alternative ways of getting to the Loire Valley. We have travelled by train in Europe so that would be a start. Do you know what trains will take us there and how long the trip would be. As you suggested we can get a tour from there. Thanks,
Elsa
Hi Elsa,, you can take a train from Paris to Tours( about an hour) then take a tour with Acco Dispo,, they offer several options( private or shared van tours) and are well reviewed on many sites, I personally have not done them, but have heard they are absolutely fine. You can just google Acco Dispo and there site is in english and easy to figure out.
Thank you, I am going to check them out. I will let you know what I come up with. Elsa
linksparis looks like an agency that sells other companys tours, not runs their own tours, so I would examine their pricing carefully. Same as Viatour.
