As a Canadian, I believe an International drivers licence is suggested but is it mandatory?
Using the Toll roads, do people use ENG's and Vignettes(Slovenia) to pay in advance?

Autoeurope says you need it for Slovenia. They also have some info about the vignette: https://www.autoeurope.com/driving-information/slovenia/
I see often that some companies do not allow cross border travel, so I'd look into that first. The $20 IDP is nothing to worry over. It becomes mandatory if you happen to get pulled over or in an accident.

Tx for the info. I checked with Alamo and they allow you to go into the countries we will visit.
Also printed a document from Visa showing proof of coverage.
Any other suggestions?
