WE will be in the Lake Como area next August. We are wondering on the best way to travel to the Loire Valley from there, train of plane? A night in Switzerland would be fine on the way. Thanks!

Local train from Como to Milan.
7hr 30min by TGV to Paris from Milano Porto Garibaldi
1 hr by TGV to Tours (St-Pierre-des-Corps) from Paris Montparnasse
Torino could provide an overnight if you were looking to break the trip.
A plane journey, possibly via Marseille, would most likely be messy.
