Traveling to Lausanne and Frickingen, Germany; Add Lake Como, Italy or Salzburg, Austria?

Summer 2020, planning an approximate 15-17 day trip to stay with multiple friends who live in Lausanne and Frickingen. I’m looking for recommendations of where to go adding a 3rd stop at either Lake Como or Salzburg, to incorporate a third country. Looking for a scenic and diverse trip, staying at 3 different locations for around 5 days each to be able to explore surrounding areas leisurely. We would fly into or out of Geneva, Zurich or Munich depending on which towns we start at, leave from and we would be driving from town to town at around 5 hours or less between each location. Appreciate experiences and advice!

Fly into or out of Geneva or Zurich to avoid international drop fees on a rental car. Frickingen is closer to Zurich airport than Munich anyway. Plus the car will already have a Swiss vignette attached. So given that, I'd pick Lake Como.

Thanks Sam! I wasn’t thinking about car rental fees of picking up/dropping off at different locations.

For you or those familiar with the following areas, does this sound like a good itinerary for approximately 2 weeks? I’m open to suggestions for the number of days at each major stop (Lausanne, Lake Como, Frickingen), must see/stops on route to each major stop and recommended side day trips from each major stop:

Fly into Zurich.
Drive down to Lausanne for 5 days ish. Day trips to France and other Swiss towns.
Drive to Lake Como for 5 days ish. Day trips to surrounding areas (Swiss and Italian).
Drive up to Frickingen for 5 days ish, going through Liechtenstein and possibly stopping at a town in Austria. Day trips to Lake Constance, Appenzell, Berner Oberland area.
Fly out of Zurich.

Sounds crazy but that is touching foot in 6 countries because of the proximity of borders (not necessarily my goal if it’s recommended to spend more time in a country). I’m an avid traveler, first time I’ve ever written on a forum for advice. Appreciate your experiences and advice, in advance!

If you drive on a motorway (limited access highway like the Interstate) in Austria, you'll need to stop and get a vignette for that, and attached to the windshield as directed. It is pretty hard get from Liechtenstein to Germany without using the motorway, but the the cost is only about 10 EUR for a 10-day vignette.
