On our way from Paris, in April to Belgium, are there suggestion for a nights stay in north-east France, on the boarder between France and Belgium; hotel, city, etc.?

What about Lille? It's right on the border. I think it was two years ago that it was that year's European Capital of Culture. You can google Logis de France Lille to see if there is one of their hotels close by.

You didn't say where you're headed in Belgium, but if your destination is Brussels & you have time for a little sightseeing, you could overnight in Reims (France) & you could see a little champagne country, plus a great cathedral. Reims is not on the border; it's about a 3-hour drive from there to Brussels.
