traveling from England to France on the Chunnel

We are renting a car in London and traveling in England, then taking the Chunnel to France. Should we exchange the right hand drive in England or after we have gone across the Chunnel? Tips on getting across to go to Paris? Thanks!

Are you returning to England or were you planning to return the car in France? It is quite expensive to rent a car in one country and return in another. If you are not returning to England I would turn in the car there and take the Eurostar to Paris. Will you be staying in Paris? You DO NOT want a car there, nor do you need one. What is your itinerary?

Good questions. We will be eventually returning to London, to fly back home. We will be in Paris for only two nights, then traveling to Germany, and will need a car for the rest of the visit. Perhaps we should just get a car when we leave Paris? Thank you for your input!

Perhaps we should just get a car when we leave Paris? Yup. Buy your Eurostar tickets as soon as they are released for sale. They never get cheaper, and they do go up.

I would pick up and return the car in the same country, whether it is France or Germany is your choice. As I mentioned before, there can be a large, probably hundreds of dollars (euros) fee to return the car in another country.
