Traveling between Thanksgiving and the new year

A trip to Italy in October has had to be canceled and now we are looking at traveling between Thanksgiving and the new year. Any ideas out there on where would be a good place to go, based on the time of year, the weather, and such? We would like to visit Italy, have already been to England and France. Thank you for your help.

We went to Italy last Thanksgiving, and it was wonderful. Because of weather, I decided against Venice (chilly and frequently flooded,) and opted for the Amalfi Coast over the Cinque Terra, since it would be warmer in the south. The temperatures were about average for that time of year -- high 60s F in the day and high 40s F at night. We went to Florence (our only rainy days,) Siena, Sorrento, and Rome, and I never needed more than a light jacket for an evening or two. Everything was open, sidewalk cafes were still enjoyable during the day, evening walks were pleasant, and prices were low.

My husband and I go to the UK every year the week after Thanksgiving. We have been doing this for more than 20 years. London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Inverness, Bath, Stratford-upon-avon, York, .... All are GREAT! We have also been to Vienna and Insbruck during this time period. Also GREAT!!! We love going to the Christmas markets in all these places. And you have less crowds than in summer. The weather is about like we have here in North Carolina.. maybe a little colder in Austria and a little wetter in UK. It's a great time to travel.
