Interesting, CJS, and thank you! Eurostar situation, too. Our local CBS station aired a reporter who just flew from Denver to St. Lous (not sure if it was for personal reasons, apparently not just for “the story”) on Southwest Airlines. The Denver airport has signs all over that people are supposed to wear masks. Several passengers, and even airport staff weren’t! On the plane, he wiped the area down, too, back in crowded Coach. They loaded 10 people at a time, to afford distancing. But the plane was basically packed. No mention of crew moveability or staying behind their curtain, like on this Athens-to-Belgium-to-London journey. When the plane landed in St. Louis, people just got up together and crowded the aisles, to deplane in one bunch. Distancing requires time and patience, and you have to sometimes walk backwards or turn around, to let some determined person get by, because a lot of other people don’t seem to be willing to give an inch, let alone the US 6 feet, the British and Greek 2 meters, or even the Belgian 1.5 metres!

In the U.S. major airlines will not require flight attendants to be the enforcers for wearing masks. How far can one go to reason with idiots? Emergency landing? Sad situation.

Every seat on Southwest is in "crowded coach". The entire plane is coach.

There are no curtains on Southwest planes for the flight attendants to hide behind. But they probably stayed in the galley areas since there is currently no snack or drink service on any Southwest flights.

And yes, most of the passengers I have run into lately on Southwest flights are very impatient. Some of that is because of connections that are way too close for comfort causing connecting passengers to have to sprint to the next gate or get left behind. Some of it is people are just too impatient in general.

airlineinfo8, the number you've published is not the Southwest Airlines contact number, which in the US is 1-800-435-9792 (1-800-I-FLY-SWA)

https://www.southwest.com/contact-us/contact-us.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-CONTACT-US

The number you have published is for a rather shoddy 3rd-party booking website. It is not SW's official site nor is it the official reservation site for the other airlines which come up under that number. They do have a disclaimer that which states that they "... do not own or manage any kind of Travel Services. We don't declare that we are airlines or are associated with any airlines."

Only contact numbers published by the airlines themselves on their official websites should be used. Reported.
