Travel Pro 22"

Hi,

I am going to Europe this summer but don't want to check anything in. I am considering this bag, TravelPro Crew7 22" Rollaboard Expandable Suiter, but I am worried it will not pass their "eyeball" test.

I have opted for the speedy boarding as well to make sure I get on with my bag, before they tell me that the overheard bins are full.

should i go with this bag or go with a 20" instead?

hi,

sorry i forgot to put that i am flying easyjet. i will be flying out of london, amsterdam, rome, and paris for easyjet

their restrictions are 56x45x25cm, which the luggage meets, but i have heard that they just eyeball the luggage and tell you to check it in. i have also read that they make you try and fit it into the bin, which usually doesnt fit due to the wheels

i have been thinking about taking the luggage brochure card which shows the specifications and the website description which shows the luggage dimensions also

I've never flown Easy Jet, but I have a Travel Pro 22" bag and I have always been able to carry it on. I usually fly Continental and Southwest.

Go for the 20"....The 22" won't fit in Easyjet's sizers. Rollaboards are suspect on the discount airlines so they may measure it. (Remember, the dimensions they give do not include wheels and handles.)

Eyeball test? Any time ANY airline desker tells me I have to check it, I slide it into their sizer....end of discussion. If your bag won't fit their sizer because of the wheels...then it doesn't meet their guidelines. As others have mentioned, measure the outside dimensions (including wheels and handle); don't take the suitcase manufacturer's word for it, since half an inch or so here and there could be critical.

Mike, it won't matter if you take the luggage card that lists dimensions and the website printout that lists dimensions. It's actual measurements that count, and your 22" is probably outside the airline's dimensions when you actually measure the outside. The 20" would be safer.
