Travel Planning

My wife and I are currently trying to plan 75 days of travel in Europe and it is turning out to be a really tough challenge. We basically have a week planed thus far. It consists of starting in Edinburgh for Military Tatto, heading north for some Highland Games and Loch Ness, and then flying to Paris to go west and see Normandy/Mont St. Michel. However, we are having a tough time as to where to go after that. Would like some thoughts and does anyone know of good planning service possibly because at this point we feel we are in over our head. Thanks in advance.

You are off to a good start planning and booking Scotland and air but if you are now overwelmed I suggest you pick up a tour starting in Paris to take you around France. Then do the same for Italy(ie.Venice)or your other fav choices. Or one that highlights western europe in total.Check with AAA office that have full service travel agents. Hopefully you can book your train or inter europe air yourself via internet.
For some w/ expeerience it is enjoyable to do all the planning , booking for others ruins the trip becuz of overload. Assess what is right for you.

2 and a half months is a long time to be on the go.

Do you want to stay for "extended" periods (week or three) in one place, taking day trips (local transport? rental car? local tours?), getting to know the area? If so, what areas have you thought about? What turns you on: art, history, architecture, local culture, seaside, mountain lakes, music ....?

Do you want to see as many different places as you can? Maybe some group tours will be good for you. Or a river cruise.

What time of year? Are you on a tight budget or are you ready to spend several hundred dollars a day?
