Travel noobs here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. My friend and I are planning a trip from London -> Dublin -> Paris -> Italy. We are planning to stay a cummilitive (?) of 4 weeks. Starting with a flight into London and ending with a flight out of Rome. What sort of travel documents will we need to enter each country. We have both never flown internationally and can't find a solid answer with just google.

If you're not a minor and you have US passports, then your passports are all you need.

If the immigration officer is suspicious that you might be trying to work, etc., he might ask general information about your travel plans, might want to see evidence of a return reservation, etc. But to enter legally and exit all you need is a US passport.

It would help to have some idea where you're located and a few more details. As the others have mentioned, if you're travelling with a U.S. Passport, that's all you'll need.

A more efficient route would be to travel Dublin > London > Paris > Rome. Have you already purchased flights? How are you planning to travel between cities?

As this is your first trip to Europe, I'd highly recommend reading Europe Through The Back Door prior to your trip. After that use the country guidebooks to plan hotels, sightseeing, local transportation, etc.

You will need to prove that you have a return ticket.

Start in Dublin then work east. If you are travelling this summer, you need to get on and book tickets. There are plenty of flights from Dublin to London. The value airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair charge for check in bags, which you will have with a 4 week trip. Flights have been available for months and prices only head one way. Try to avoid Friday night and Monday morning flights as these are popular with weekenders.

London to Paris - take the Eurostar. Tickets go on sale 6 months out and again, ticket prices only head one way. The cheapest prices are for anti social times.

Fly to Italy.

You have picked 4 relatively expensive locations in Europe, so book ahead as much as possible for the best deals.
