I get the Chicago Tribune travel email and usually skim right past it, but this one caught my eye. I bet we've all be tagged by at least one of these mistakes. Check it out. http://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/newsletter/sns-ct-travel-troubleshooter-mistakes-newsletter,0,3863549.story
Thank you, Pamela. I really enjoyed reading the article.
Good article.
I might argue that $15 per day for Mexican insurance beats seeing the inside of a Mexican jail.
Or that carry-on travelers don't have to worry about losing luggage. Especially for a five day trip.
Thanks.
I thought the section about double-checking times was very valid. Because Europe uses a 24 hour clock, this doesn't come into play here, but for Americans it sure does.
Many people also don't pay attention to the date change when flying over. They look at their ticket, yep, flying to Paris on 17 June, so will make shuttle reservations, hotel reservations, etc. for the 17th, as they have forgotten that they land the next day. When I managed a hotel here, this happened all the time.
Confusion over dates and how they are written happens too. Europe uses day/month/year and this throws people sometimes. It is why I consistently write the month on this forum, rather than a number.
