Travel Insurance-not Travelguard?

So we want to purchase travel insurance for our trip on a RS tour to France next spring. I had some questions on a policy, but sat on hold for over 30 min till I finally hung up. No option like many places now to get a call back with your place in line. Disappointed as this is the recommended company that RS suggests. 30 min is my limit. On hold. Has anyone else experienced this? Not sure I want an insurance company that is so difficult to reach.

We always use Travel Guard ( yearly) and never have had an experience like that.
They have paid large claims promptly three times so we are loyal customers but I would also be angry if I was put on hold like that. Go to their website.
I know there were several different phone numbers one can use to contact them. Try a different number. Or you can do everything , buying your coverage, online.
We called them from Europe one time when it was the middle of the night in WI where they are based and our call was answered immediately.

Try insuremytrip.com. I am comfortable with the well rated, well known companies; ie, Allianz, AIG, Nationwide. But it depends what you want to insure, of course, which will determine what plan you pick. I didn't insure my one RS trip, just got some medical insurance. I use MedJetAssist for my medical evacuation plan.

We've been happy with Travelex, had one claim some years ago that was handled well. (Of course we've paid them more in premiums over the years than that claim was worth!) The insuremytrip.com site is good for comparison shopping. I've never used TravelGuard, but your phone experience is the only negative I've heard about it.

I just bought a one-year medical+evacuation policy from Seven Corners via Squaremouth. It was more reasonable than buying for each trip.

I've used multiple companies over the years. Allianz is very easy to use and they will pay claims with documentation (in my own experience).

I bought an annual policy from Allianz in March and they answered the phone promptly when I called with questions.

I’ve been happy with Allianz. You can check their website and choose from several coverage options.

Wishing you a wonderful trip!

You can book all of this online as well - no waiting! I keep an annual policy from GeoBlue now...it's actually cheaper than buying separate policies for all of my trips.
