Go to "insuremytrip" to do some research. What is good for one person may not be good for another. I have gone to Europe for 14 of the last 16 years and have taken out travel insurance for the last 7 years since I went on Medicare which does not cover me in Europe.
I have no complaints about my company and have never had a claim so I can not attest to their reimbursement history. I happen to use Travel Guard, a company I found on insure my trip and which was recommended by as RS staffer.
I use imglobal.com for all my trips-you choose your deductable, and term. Only needed them once on all my trips and they did fine.
go to the site Squaremouth.com
they compare many different insurance companies
Hello,
This is a link to our personal experience with AIG TrabelGuard ins. We went to insure my trip.com to compare policies.

As Charlie and Frances suggested, there are a number of sites that will allow you to compare all the "ifs, ands, and buts" of various policies -- and be sure to check the fine print. One size does not fit all so you are going to have to "tailor' one to fit your particular needs. We had one claim with Travel Guard. They did require certain documentation but nothing that was unreasonable. If memory serves correctly we had a check in less than two weeks after submitting our claim.
I use Travel Insured International recommended by USAA, the insurance company for US Military and ex-military.
I had only one claim for my cellphone stolen in Barcelona. They handled fine; no complaints.
USAA, itself, is rated as one of the best insurance companies. I have had my auto insurance with them for years and, when I've had a claim, every repair shop has commented that USAA is one of the best and easiest for them to deal with.
