Hi, We always buy travel insurance on our trips to Europe before. Thank goodness We never have to use it in our past trips. There will be 4 of us travelling on this trip. I was able to get UA rewards ticket for 2 then I bought the other 2 tickets. In the past, I just gave the travel insurance company the total cost of our trip with air and accommodations then our age and they came up with an amount. This time, we have 2 free tickets and 2 that we bought. I still want to buy some sort of insurance as I worry about ' Murphy's Law' - might need it when I don't have it. My husband just got this UA 24 hr medical assistance . I am thinking if I should buy this or another kind. Thanks

If you include the amount of taxes you paid on the award tickets and the cost of the fee to re-deposit the miles from an un-used award ticket many insurance policies cover those costs - read the policy coverages before selecting. Check with UA for their fee to re-deposit.
