We are planning a trip to Europe for the last week of March through the first week of April. Our travel time is not flexible so we would like to choose the best destination considering the time of year and the short duration of our trip (~10 days). We are considering southern Italy, southern France or Paris. What destination is best during that time of year? Will restaurants, attractions, etc. be open? Are there any weather related problems, such as the flooding in Cinque Terre, that may affect our choice?
Tell me about the weather in Paris since it is the northernmost of the 3 locations. Is it very wintery or the beginning of spring? It would be a drag to have to pack winter clothing.
i've been to Paris in March and there were days were it was unseasonably warm and days where it was colder than usual. You definitely will need some winter clothing. The weather is unpredictable but you can check historic averages at weather.com. It was a little less crowded though still busy with tourists but still a great time.
In generall going south makes sense but you can go about anywhere and have a good time
Thanks to all for the advice!
