Hello,
I would like your expert advise on which is the better way to travel from Zurich to Amsterdam. My niece and I finish touring Switzerland on May 27, 2017. We would need to fly to Amsterdam next day but our flight from Zurich departs at 7:40 am. We will be at Lucerne on Saturday night, I have checked the SBB's web site and the earlier train leaving on Sunday morning is 2:35 am. Is it safe for us to get from our hotel (Radission Blue in Lucerne) to the the train station early in the morning? Or taking the lastest trains the night before around 10:35pm or 11:10 pm to Zurich airport and stay in the airport until our morning flight.

On the morning of Sunday, 5/28, the 4:55 departure from Luzern is scheduled to reach Zurich airport at 6:13, which should be adequate for a 7:40 flight to Amsterdam, assuming no delay. That is a direct train while the 2:35 departure requires a connection. It would be less stress to sleep closer to the airport, and not being a "morning person," I'd prefer that.
